Paradise

Where is paradise?
Happy laughing people
No cares, no cries
Lonely, self I am
I had to look one time
I searched and searched and searched
I sought but couldn't find
This beautiful paradise was unknown to my soul
The fear of living lonely, growing as one too old
I layed my restless heart down to take a rest
It was there in the back of my mind, I found the very best
Joyful happy ones, gathered all around
Snow white gowns covered their bodies
Pure spun gold lay as the ground
I somehow felt at peace, forgot the world of tears
Forgot the wrinkles that aged my heart
From the passing of the years
Serenity and calm surrendered my soul
Banished the pain of that deep dark hole
I bowed to my maker, and knelt at his feet
No more ever, shall I get beat
He picked me up as a child in his arms
"Forever from now, you'll feel no harm."
Like a trance in me, I gazed in his eyes
Just to dream away to this "Pardise"

Lovers
|
Sometimes, when things are quiet,
and I am alone with myself
and my thoughts,
I think of you,
and of what you have brought to my life:
the knowledge that there is someone
who truly, deeply cares about me,
who accepts me as I am,
frailties and all,
and who will always be there for me
regardless of circumstances.
Knowing that is all it takes
to elevate me high enough
to reach for that which ordinarily
would lie beyond my grasp.
And should I someday find myself
able to pluck the fruit
of success, it will be due,
in no small measure,
to having had you as a friend...
